Frequently Asked QuestionsIf your can’t find your answers here, please email me at info@polarisgolf.eu and I’ll do my best to help you.
I want to fly mid-week. Is that a problem? There’s no fixed changeover day, so generally that’s not a problem. What compulsory extras are there to pay? There’s a refundable security bond of £200 (due with the balance, 56 days before the start of your holiday), plus a clean/changeover fee of 70 euros, payable locally to the Property Manager. However, if you book online via this website, using the Rentalsystems booking agents’ secure server, they charge an additional online booking and card processing fee, plus a Damage Waiver Charge of £25.00. The latter is non-refundable and replaces the £200 refundable security bond. When is my balance due? The balance is due 56 days prior to departure. You may pay by cheque, bank transfer or credit card. How do I get the keys to the house? This depends on what time you arrive. If it’s before 6pm, our Property Manager, Carole, will normally meet you either at the Resort main entrance or the house itself. Otherwise, we’ll leave the keys in the keysafe for you. The pictures on www.polarisgolf.eu show a double bed in one bedroom and two singles in the other. Can we change that? You can have any combination – two doubles, a double and two singles or four singles. When two are zipped together, it makes a six foot wide super-kingsize bed. Your house is advertised as ‘sleeps four’, but we have three children. All townhouse and apartments at La Torre Golf Resort are two bedrooms. We do not offer a sofa bed, as we feel that the house would be too cramped with more than four people staying there. However, provided you are happy, the children can share a bed; if it’s not a problem for you, it’s not a problem for us. Note – be wary of other properties on La Torre that advertise ‘sleeps seven’. Only villas will comfortably sleep that number of people. Is smoking allowed in the property? No: the property is strictly No Smoking. However, if you must smoke, please do so outside. Use the ash tray and don’t throw cigarette butts into the garden. Apart from it being disgusting, it is also a fire hazard – and our cleaners will charge extra for picking them up. Please note that as of January 2nd 2011, smoking is now banned from all bars and restaurants throughout Spain. Is a car recommended? Public transport in the area is very limited and we always recommend that you hire a rental car. Often it works out the same cost as the return taxi fair from the airport. Having said that, if all you want to do is relax by the pool or play golf at the Resort everyday (and don’t intend to go the the beach or go sight-seeing around Murcia), then you needn't bother. But bear it mind, it’s a three kilometre walk into the nearest local town, and not all the bars and restaurants at the Resort are open outside of the summer months. It’s a good idea to book your car as early as possible – even at the same time as your flights. We use www.carjet.com or www.doyouspain.com. You don’t have to pay until you pick up the car. What about a Welcome Pack? A welcome pack of food and drink is included free of charge for all bookings of seven nights or more. For less than seven nights, the charge is 20 euros and is payable to the Property Manager on arrival at the house. You’ll get water, coffee, tea, orange juice, milk, wine, beer, bread, jam, butter, eggs, bacon and cheese. (Subject to change.) Are towels and linen provided? All bedroom sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers and bathroom towels are provided, but you’ll need to bring your own beach towels . I’d like to check my emails and surf the internet whilst I’m at La Torre. There’s free WiFi at the townhouse, but you’ll need to bring your own laptop. We’ll send you a password nearer the time of your holiday. Is maid service provided? No, unless you come to some private arrangement with the Property Manager. This will be chargeable as extra. What about a hair-dryer? We’ve left one for you to use at the property. Is there a phone at the house? There’s a telephone that allows free calls to (and from) other properties on La Torre, plus the supermarket, hotel, bars and restaurants. If you have a Skype account, you’ll get free Skype to Skype calls over the internet (plus reduced rate calls to landlines and mobiles). If you haven’t already got one, you can sign up to a free account at www.skype.com. Will I need to my own bring travel plug adapters? There’s a couple at the property, but it’s a good idea to bring your own as well. It states on the booking form that the earliest arrival at the property is 3pm and that we must vacate the property by 10am at the latest. Are these times flexible? Provided that we have no guests leaving on the day you arrive – or starting their holiday on the day you depart – it shouldn’t be a problem, but email info@polarisgolf.eu first to check. What TV and entertainment do you have at the townhouse? We have cable TV with all the UK terrestrial channels (click here for the full list), a CD player, a DVD/video player, an iPod dock, tennis rackets, and a bucket and spade. You’ll find over 300 music CDs, books, games and films to suit all tastes. Do you offer discounts? There’s a number of discounts, not least for returning guests at our property. (Please email first for details before making a booking.) Other discounts include Early Bird, Long Stay and Late Availability bookings, plus discounted owners’ rates for the golf. Do you offer golf packages? Yes, please email info@polarisgolf.eu for details of the latest offers.
